Waterlogged Dogwoods: Checkpoint Tracker Series

About the Team

The Waterlogged Dogwoods is an adventure racing team based in the Raleigh-Durham area. The team started in Northern Virginia and participated in the Odyssey Sprint Series and some EX2 Races, eventually moving to 24 hour and multi-day races.

The team name originates from a state flower and experiences in some of the adventure races. The "Dogwood" is both Virginia's and North Carolina's state flower. During one of the first Adventure Races, there was a crazy rainstorm and everybody was completely "Waterlogged". Lately, if the Waterlogged Dogwoods are at an Adventure Race, it will likely rain at some point. RDs beware!!!

The team will be participating in some of the Checkpoint Tracker Series Races for the 2011 season along with a goal to participate in the CPT Championship. We also enjoy doing solo type endurance events now and again. The main goals of the team are to race hard, experience the adventure, and most importantly have fun.

After a small hiatus from Co-Ed participation, the Waterlogged Dogwoods are planning on participating in the Checkpoint Tracker Adventure Racing Series for 2010. It's also great news that Bushwhack Adventures will be hosting 5 events in North Carolina next year. We are not sure of how many series events we'll be able to squeeze in, but are excited about the future of Adventure Racing in the nation and the region. Wish us luck!!!
